Financial
Planning
Knowing that financial matters relating to your funeral have been
dealt with is reassuring and also gives you the freedom to choose
what you would like.
Once
you have made choices, it is easy then to plan. When the financial
planning has been completed, you can enjoy the rest of your life
with the knowledge that all has been dealt with and nothing will
be left to chance.
We suggest that financial planning is addressed because it is estimated
that only 0.5% of the UK population thinks ahead, whereas planning
in other European countries and the United States is considered
to be an acceptable and essential process of putting one’s
affairs in order.
During our research process we looked at a variety
of options available and concluded that an adaptable Client Deposit
Account (CDA) is the best choice. This allows for flexibility as
monies can be added at any stage and can only be drawn by The Fantastic
Funeral Company upon a client’s death.
CDAs pay interest and the rates are competitive, being paid half
yearly in June and December.
A
recent report from market researchers Mintel, has predicted the
UK will follow countries such as the US and Belgium where [funeral]
pre-payment is becoming increasingly popular.
Katy Child, senior market analyst at Mintel, said:
"Although there is a good deal of informal planning of funerals
and most consumers like the idea of arranging or pre-paying their
funeral, this is rarely translated into formal planning of the event."
The report, based on interviews carried out in October 2006, found
54% of adults wanted to be cremated, and 36% favoured burial.
